‘She Forgot Half the Dress’: Single Mom Charlize Theron Shamed for Outfit During Event With Daughter

A commenter questioned what Charlize Theron’s kid thought of her outfit at an event.

The star wore an ensemble fresh off the runway.

She made a vital admission about motherhood this week.

Charlize Theron made an impression at Dior’s show at Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday for her daring choice of outfit. The “Young Adult” star wore a high wasted tan skirt with a scalloped hem.

Her black underwear shone through the garment made from a loosely crocheted material delicately embellished with crystals. She completed the look by doing a French tuck with a crisp white collar shirt.

Charlize — who has been the face of the J’adore Dior fragrance for many years — brought a plus one to the event, Jackson Theron, her 11-year-old daughter. Like her mom, Jackson did not shy away from showing her fashion sense and wore a top similar to her mom’s under her dressy plaid jacket and matching skirt.

However, the star’s look, which was from the brand’s fall/winter 2023 couture show, did not fascinate some. Detractors made their opinions known when a tabloid posted photos from the event on social media. “She forgot half the dress,” one theorized.

“Shame on her!” a second said. “Why is it that mature, successful, and accomplished women feel that it is somehow feminine, sexy, or empowering to stand there in their underwear for the whole world to see,” someone asked.

“It is none of those things. It is distasteful and desperate,” they added. “Imagine your mom showing up to an event with her panties showing,” an Instagram user commented.

Despite the criticism, some fans showed their admiration for both Charlize and her daughter. One swooned over how incredible it was to be the actress’ daughter. “Imagine having Charlize Theron as [your] mother,” they countered, punctuating the comment with a fire emoji. “Omg, she’s the best mom ever,” a commenter echoed.

“That’s like a good mother,” someone seconded. “I think she looks like her mom; how weird is that? Both of them are stunning,” a person said, even as someone else agreed.

Charlize’ is a mom of two daughters who she admitted made her “laugh like nobody’s business.” She became a single mother in 2012 when Jackson Theron came into her life, and she completed her family by adopting August Theron three years later.

Her relationship status did not inform her decision to adopt. Growing up in South Africa, she was exposed to orphanages and other children in need.

She has always been honest with her partners that adoption was how she planned to start her family. “This was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first,” she clarified.

When she started the adoption process, she “cast a very wide net,” as she believed the child she was meant to mother would find their way to her. The actress filed in every country that allowed a single person to adopt.

Her babies were born in the United States, and they both happened to be African American. Her expectation of how the adoption journey would go was met “because these two babies were meant to be in my life — and they’re my children… ”

Charlize Theron admitted to Extra TV that motherhood, as rewarding as it is, can be isolating, “I feel like there is a lot of stuff in raising kids that people are scared to talk about, and you feel sort of alone with it.”
